Hey - I'm Scott, the owner of Maxview Blinds & Shutters!


I started in the window furnishings industry over 30 years ago, working for one of the big national companies. My first role was on the shop floor, learning the ropes by shadowing their top fitter. It was a steep learning curve but I loved it. I became fascinated by how blinds and shutters were built, the materials best suited to different rooms and the satisfaction that came from seeing a customer genuinely happy with the final result.


Over time, I grew tired of fixing mistakes made by overpromising salespeople or careless installers. It wasn’t fair to the customer or the person sent in to clean up the mess.


The way I was raised was simple: do a job properly, do it right the first time and treat people with respect. That mindset has stayed with me and continues to guide how we do things at Maxview Blinds & Shutters here in Newcastle.
